Thank you, Dina!

It has been such an amazing privilege serving in ministry here at BBC with Dina Marshall. So when it was my turn to share devotion at our weekly staff meeting during her last week “at work,” honoring her was a no-brainer. The passage that I used for my devotion came from
1 Peter 2:2&3. 2. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3. now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Let me emphasize verse 3 again… Now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. Dina does just that. She gives our children their first and flavorful taste of our Lord’s goodness. Not only does she give them a taste, but she continues to feed them God’s beautiful word.

When parents bring their children to Bayshore under Dina’s care and teaching, they quickly realize that the children’s ministry here at BBC is a whole lot more that a Christian babysitting service. In addition, I have seen her consistently work to ensure that our children’s ministries are NEVER regarded as less important than those for our adults.

Dina is on top of her mountain when she’s teaching. She is a shining example of someone who is able to work the gospel into our children’s little hearts. She has this special way of knitting or weaving God’s word into their hearts without them even knowing it. Just ask any parent and they can share countless stories of children mimicking what they learned from Dina.

Not only is Dina an excellent teacher, but she is also a team player who models truth not only to our children but also to us. Finally, Dina loves our children and they know they are loved by her. Over and over again, I have heard countless squeals of “Miss Dina! Miss Dina!” when she simply enters a room.

If you ask Dina what excites her, she will tell you that her passion for children’s ministry comes from her desire for all children to have what she was missing as a child. While during her childhood she knew God, she didn’t know that that she could have a personal relationship with Him! Thank you, Dina. We love you!
